Matteo Evangelisti was born in Rome in 1985, and he began studying the flute at age 13 with Filippo Cianfoni and graduated in 2003 with highest honors. Than he graduated with Glauco Cambursano in the Academy of Imola, where he obtained a Master's degree.


Currently principal flute of the Orchestra del Teatro dell'Opera in Rome (chosen from Riccardo Muti), he has collaborated with the most important Italian orchestras such as the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Orchestra of Santa Cecilia's Academy, the Teatro alla Scala, the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala , the Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale in Bologna.


First prize of the most important national and international competitions in Italy, such as: Krakamp, Severino Gazzelloni, Syrinx, Ovada, Palmi, Leonardo de Lorenzo.


He won the International Competition Biwako in Japan and the International Competition Timisoara in Romania, second prize in the International Competition in Nice Maxence Larrieu and special mention to Jean-Pierre Rampal International Competition in Paris.

He has performed as a soloist with the philharmonic Valcea in Romania and Vidin, the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Cameristi and has given recitals in Geneva and Nice with Maestro Larrieu.
